The Nursery {in Words}

In this lifetime, the lasting memories - the ones that are buried deep into our core, will be those monumental times spent with the ones we love. Big life moments such as wedding celebrations, the births of children and overseas adventures are the occasions that are innately embedded into our being - without conscious thought, without the effort to internalise.

However it's the little moments in life, the everyday occurrences, that create a most happy existence, a happy life... a happy heart. Moments of true connection; of pure, blissful love... a fleeting look, a tender touch, a stolen kiss - these are the instances that define a relationship, that build a deep, rich, eternal bond. These actions are simple and effortless. They are the unassuming facets that intertwine the heart strings of beloveds. But often because of their subtlety, those fleeting looks, those tender touches, those stolen kisses, simply become the familiar. Their occurrence in our everyday, means they simply become our everyday.

Attending The Nursery last weekend, I discovered that the magic in capturing a perfect image does not lie solely within the talents of the photographer or the expense of their camera. Of course a knowledge of shutter speed, aperture and ISO all have a role in composing a beautiful photograph, as does high quality equipment. However at the heart of capturing an incredible image is the understanding and appreciation of connections between people. The gift of anticipating that fleeting look, that tender touch, that stolen kiss and pausing those enchanting moments with the press of a finger. At the heart of photography, is the photographer with a heart. One that values relationships, one that cherishes family, one that holds love in the absolute highest regard.

Thank you Tim for sharing your knowledge of the intricacies of photography during The Nursery, but most importantly, thank you for opening my eyes to the world of encapsulating pure love and natural connections through photographs.

Thank you also for capturing our family's everyday - the everyday that we didn't realise was so utterly beautiful until you gave us this gift with your incredible images. Not until you see your world from the outside looking in, do you realise how those simple, effortless, unassuming acts of love are the true beauty that becomes daily life. Thank you for showing us that we have so, so much to be grateful for; for revealing the magic that is our little family. The passion you hold so palpably for Kesh and Roo, translates wholly through your craft in the way you cherish the sacredness of the family unit.

In you, we have found not only a truly brilliant photographer... we have found ourselves a life-long friend.

  3. Oh lovely Anna! I've come back to this post many times over the last few days and have been unable to find the words for a comment. This post is so very beautiful! You have woven together words in such a way as to convey not only your deep love for your man and your baby but also what humans intrinsically feel when our souls collide. A masterpiece lovely bloggy friend! A kindred spirit I have found of that I'm sure :) x
