Something to wear
Something to read
Something she wants
Something she needs
I first came across this sweet little rhyme at this even sweeter little blog many, many months ago as a perfect guide for gifting your wee ones. Upon reading, I immediately knew this was the ideal structure for this self-appointed "present buyer" of the family, as it ensures my occasionally excessive tendencies are kept to a reasonable, yet satisfying minimum!
With Christmas fast approaching {can you seriously believe it's November already?!} and Sage's gifting already complete, I thought I'd put a together a selection of my current favourite children's items that I've 'wish-listed' as perfect potentials for my future reference. This is not a sponsored post - just filled with items and brands that I've come to love and trust over my years as a Kindergarten teacher and now, as a parent. The items listed have been chosen based on my personal style aesthetic alone and do not even begin to scratch the surface of the enormity that is available online. Just maybe you'll spot something you love for your little one this festive season? Be sure to tell me your favourites!

ReplyDeleteSophie xo
Aren't they just the sweetest little macaroons Sophie!? I had some stashed away for Sage's future years but then gave them to a friend's sweet little girl for her third birthday. Your cupcake stand sounds divine. I just adore wooden toys! Hope your bank balance doesn't suffer too much! X
DeleteWhat a perfect selection! So much cuteness right there. I need to bookmark this post.... And buy those adorable macarons for my daughter!
ReplyDeleteThank you! x
They are gorgeous Amelia, if only for an unlimited bank balance! I think I'll have to make these lists a regular feature. Scouring sites for sweet little finds is one of my favorite things to do :-)
DeleteToo much gorgeousness here. Love all the wooden sets xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Greer, gorgeousness overload! X
DeleteOh my goodness. Just look at all those wonderful toys!
ReplyDeleteMy favourites – the wooden teabags, the penguins and their igloo, the stacking birds, the ball track ... how does one decide?
The tea bags are so lovely - definitely one purchase that won't be too far off Imogen x
DeleteOh you have hunted out such loveliness! With Remy's birthday in a few weeks some tree blocks have been ordered already but I think some wooden nesting bowls could be added to that. And that wee little rabbit hutch....Bijou would be over the moon if Mr.S.Claus popped that under the tree. Thanks so much for sharing...I'm off to have another look at all your goodies.
ReplyDeleteSteph :) x
P.S. I was SOOO dissapointed when the newsagency hadn't received their Little One Baby yet! Maybe today x

Oh Remy will just love his tree blocks over the coming years Steph. They're my favorite of the block sets. But I also adore the natural colors of the nesting bowls. So many endless possibilities! I hope you've been able to pick up a copy of LittleONE - my newsagency had almost sold out when I visited yesterday! X
Deleteooooh LOVE the pencils at the end there :) What did you make for Sage?
ReplyDeleteEllen xx
The pencils are fabulous Ellen! Much thicker leads than in usual pencils, so very break resistant and also closed over at the ends so if wee ones put them in their mouthes, there's no risk - perfect! X
Deletei love all the wooden toys ... we have a growing collection. all such lovely ideas x
ReplyDeleteWooden toys are certainly my weakness Sarah - I adore the Le Toy Van Car and Caravan set in the "On the Move" section - its something I would've loved as a child! X
DeleteLovely collection you have put together. My favorite would have to be the nesting bowls and play silks.......lovely open ended toys.
ReplyDeleteNatalie xx
Oh me too Natalie! I'd like to invest in some good quality play silks for Sage -- as she grows, they can become anything her imagination dreams! x
DeleteSuch a beautiful rhyme! grace adores the macaroons you gave her for her birthday they are played with every day. I love this list of beautiful items and just when I thought I had my christmas shopping done! Xx
ReplyDeleteIt's a good rhyme for me too stick to Mel - otherwise I think I'd end up going a little crazy! A first Christmas is very exciting :-) I'm so glad Grace likes her macaroons - they will be well played with by your girls over the next few years, before Sage would've even been able to use them! We'll have to talk pressies at our next catch-up :-) x
DeleteI think we have similar taste in toys for our boys! I especially love the multi-colored bird stacker.
ReplyDeleteLovely to discover you blog! Also thank you for this ideas list - just ordered some of the playsilks for my little one :)
