17/52 {The Nappy Aisle Edition}

A portrait of my little wren, once a week, every week, in 2013

Sage - even the most mundane tasks are made all the brighter when shared with this cheeky soul!

This week I visited Lilly over at Project Little Smith and sighed at sight of her blue-eyed darling. Just maybe that sweet aviator hat had me pining for a little man in our future days...

Welcome | The Sling Diaries

Her warm breath - still milky sweet, lingers delicately in the still of the afternoon air.
The tenderness of her soft kiss remains for only moments on my lips, but forever in my heart.
I am so delighted to be have been chosen to share tales from our baby-wearing days as part of the Sakura Bloom Sling Diaries, Volume III.

Each month, I join with six other incredible mummas from around the world, to photograph and journal a series of themed posts, to document our sling journey {while seven other beauties will be sharing their adventures through Instagram}. Favourite images from each 'diary' are then collected to represent our stories on Sakura Bloom's Pinterest page and ultimately a winner is chosen.

Over the past year I have watched in awe as participants from volumes one and two have compiled exquisite, soul-stirring accounts of their baby-wearing endeavours and how seamlessly they've embraced the sling as a natural extension of their being. I was so honoured to have been selected to join this amazing group of women, that I read and re-read my invitation to participate time and time again, not quite believing my eyes.

An incredible opportunity to keep my baby  my baby   for just a wee bit longer as we explore this great world with wonder, side-by-side.

I am so very excited to share this new chapter with you.

{Throughout the Sling Diaries, Sage will be wrapped snug in the Essential Linen Sling in Driftwood-Mint and the Simple Silk Sling in Fig}.

a pregnancy, a birth | Melanie

A gentle caress, a soft glance; those fleeting moments which express a mother's undeniable love for her unborn

As a mother, Melanie exudes natural gracefulness; an effortless aura. She is mild, patient and loving, and takes the busyness that comes with raising young ones, all within her elegant stride. Her relaxed demeanor ensures a gentle rhythm to days spent with her darling girls, and they will flourish, knowing without a doubt, just how very loved they are.

Just recently, my beautiful friend asked me to capture some images during the final weeks of her pregnancy, with the impending birth of her third, precious baby. And although her sweet bundle had not yet arrived - the gentle caresses and the soft glances toward her blossoming belly, spoke of the pure, profound love she already held for her unborn babe.

All because two people fell in love...
A couple of weeks passed and exquisite Charlotte entered the world, after an incredibly beautiful, natural birth. As in life, Mel displayed unwavering poise, strength and dignity throughout her labouring journey. Even in the throes of pain, she maintained faith and trust in her body, surrendering to each wave as it brought their daughter closer and closer to their open, waiting arms.

With eyes filled with wonder, Lotte was welcomed into the lives and hearts of her parents... parents who will cradle her fears and kiss away her tears. Parents who will love her beyond measure and delight in all that she is... all that she will become.

{Thank you Mel and Clayton, for allowing me the honour of sharing in this most sacred, precious time. I am so, so privileged, not only to have experienced the magic as you received and fell in love with your newest born, but simply through having you in my life as treasured friends x}

This week I visited gorgeous Melinda over at Alight and was enthralled by the light surrounding her precious daughter Gracie {and those curls just remind me so much of Sage's!}
