My Favourite Colour

my favourite colour - Photo a Day, July

Not really my favourite, how could I possibly choose one from the endless spectrum of glorious shades?!

A sample pot of beautiful blue 'Bay's Water', ready for my next project!

Sage's Sanctuary

Just recently, Sage's nursery was featured on Little Living's Facebook page as part of their "decorate and win" children's room competition. This excited me greatly, as their kid's products and nursery pieces are simply divine - so to be associated with them, no matter how minutely, is a great honour! Also being inspired by this beautiful little blog, I thought it high time to get my act into gear and include some images of Sage's nursery space here on Fields of Sage.

As many of you would know through following me on Facebook, Sage's nursery has been a work in progress ever since that beloved 20 week scan when we discovered Baby Poss was in fact going to be a "she". Decorating and pretty interiors are one of my most favourite pleasures {and indulgences!} so creating this space has been an absolute joy and it is now by far, our favourite room of the house!

We didn't ever have a definite theme in mind for Sage's nursery - we simply bought things that we fell in love with {and there were a lot of them!} and believed that they would all work together in creating a whimsical feel, evoking wonderment and curiousity. Pablo once said "the most effective kind of education is that a child should play amongst lovely things". For this reason, we were incredibly mindful of including some items that may not be typically associated with children's play - not only to instill an appreciation and respect for beautiful things, but so that Sage's nursery was simply an extension of the other rooms in our home.

If there is anything that you see that you would like to know more about, please don't hesitate to ask!

We hope you love Sage's Sanctuary as much as we do!

Big {and a Mini Supermarket}

big - Photo a Day, July       Sage is very 'big' next to her mini grocery store!

This special little suitcase houses Sage's "Epicerie" or Little Grocery Store, by French brand Moulin Roty. It is just the sweetest playset, with drawers and shelves playing host to miniature grocery items, a sturdy handle at the top for maximum "cartage aroundage"and when she is done playing, we simply close the magnetic doors and store away. I can remember, as a child, loving all things tiny and as Sage grows, I'm sure she will adore it too. The enhancement of creativity and imagination through role play, and the incredible opportunities for literacy and numeracy development are endless when it comes to playing 'shop'.

 I can't wait to add these two gorgeous sets to our grocery list...
